About Us

The Ga Community Development Foundation is guided by the leadership of Nii Bedzinatse Kofi Anowa I and Naa Akaaba Bentum I. Their dedication to the community and its people guides every project we undertake.

It all started with a flood.

Begun in 2024, our first project was the repair of a wing of the Divine Home Educational Centre.  Heavy rain and flooding had caused several classrooms to be unusable.  In active rain, children could not avoid the water coming through the roof.  Rivers of water flowed through the classrooms while children huddled together in the dry spots.

We began with the plan to repair the worst two classrooms.  We expanded to include five classrooms, and then five more.    We have built a second story onto Divine Home Educational Centre, adding five new classrooms.  We renovated ten classrooms, added electricity and ceiling fans.  Added an office and large gathering/work area.  Storage cabinets for classrooms.  Computer, printer, school supplies.  Textbooks and learning materials for all class levels.  Regarding property to control flooding. Repaired roof.   New, secure gate.  Desks and tables for nursery students.  Supported teacher salaries.

Sponsorship of students to pay all their school fees, uniforms, textbooks, feeding fees, and toiletries. Much of this project is finished, but the second story construction is still in progress.  Sponsorships of students, teacher training, and school equipment and supplies are ongoing.

Future Projects

Community Toilet Facility

Toilets – build a wash house in Kokrobite with approximately 8 toilets and handwashing facilities.  It will be staffed from 5 am to 8pm. and managed by 2 employees.  People will have a clean and secure place in town for toilet use and washing.

Well Drilling

The “Well” initiative is a community-driven effort to drill and install a sustainable water well in Kokrobite, a coastal village in Ghana, providing residents with reliable access to clean, safe drinking water. By addressing chronic water scarcity—where locals often trek long distances to contaminated sources—this project aims to reduce health risks, empower women and children by freeing up time from water-fetching duties, and foster long-term environmental and economic resilience in the area.
